How to deal with a bad mechanic
Finding someone who you heard is reliable to work on your car, can sometimes be a pain. Some people are very protective over their
cars and will not let just any stranger work on it. During all this panic and worry they don’t think of asking the mechanic for a
receipt or anything. That could be your biggest mistake when doing any kind of business deal. The car might look and drive perfectly
when you leave the workshop and maybe even for the rest of the week, but what happens when your car suddenly starts giving you the
same problem - the one you just had fixed that cost you a fortune! You try taking it back to the mechanic but he tells you that
he did his job by fixing it and the rest is now your problem. Don’t be too surprised because that does happen, a lot!
If this has happened to you it is best advised to get legal help and advice. Go back to the mechanic and if he refuses to redo your
car then a lawyer is what you need. Call your lawyer or if you do not have one, look one up and arrange to meet him or her somewhere.
Then explain the whole story and have a witness – someone to back you up, and tell the lawyer that you know that he did not fix the
car properly or you were there when the car was dropped off or when it was fetched.
From there you just let the lawyer take care of everything. If you don’t have spare money for a lawyer, a state lawyer will do a
great job. They will put the mechanic in his place and in the end he will end up paying you back every cent they owe you for your
car and all your troubles. Once that is taken care of make sure you never go there again and warn your family and friends of this guy
that calls himself a mechanic.
It is strongly advised that you do your research properly on car mechanics before you let them work on your car and make sure that
they give you a receipt, invoice or quote. Then there is proof that they did it and they will stand no chance of getting away with it.
